Covering topics like health, the environment, social justice, education, and business, these podcasts bring together diverse perspectives from both applied and academic fields.
Our goal is to make these discussions accessible worldwide, extending the conversation beyond the Annual Meetings. All episodes are free on Podbean and major streaming platforms.

A Brief History of the SfAA Podcast Project
The SfAA Podcast Project began with a simple question at the 2005 Annual Meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Then-student Jen Cardew Kersey, struggling to choose between overlapping sessions, mentioned her dilemma to her now-husband, Tim. He casually asked, “Why not listen to one of them afterward?” At the time, this seemed impossible—anthropologists didn’t record sessions.
By 2007, that changed. With the support of faculty advisor Christina Wasson and former SfAA Executive Director Tom May, Jen launched the Podcast Project at the 67th Annual Meeting. Since then, it has grown steadily, publishing over 150 podcasts, reaching listeners on six continents, and surpassing 110,000 views.
As we continue to expand, we recognize Jen Cardew Kersey, Christina Wasson, Tom May, and the many SfAA contributors and student volunteers who have made this project a lasting success.
