The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) welcomes members from diverse fields, including anthropology, sociology, economics, business, planning, medicine, nursing, law, and other social and behavioral sciences. What unites us is a shared commitment to improving the quality of life worldwide.
Membership Renewal Update (Effective July 1, 2024):
- SfAA is moving from a calendar-year renewal (January 1–December 31) to an anniversary-based renewal.
- Your membership will now last for one full year from the date you join.
- Current members will renew on the date they paid the previous year.
SfAA is committed to sustainability and the responsible use of resources. Beginning January 1, 2025, print copies of our journals, Human Organization and Practicing Anthropology, will be available as an optional paid feature. This change allows us to significantly reduce paper waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions from shipping, and promote digital alternatives, aligning with our environmental values while maintaining affordable membership fees.
Digital access to these journals will remain available to all members, offering features like search functionality and downloadable PDFs. Members who prefer print editions can purchase subscriptions at $25 per year for Human Organization and $25 per year for Practicing Anthropology.
