Consider presenting a poster at the upcoming SfAA Annual Meeting. The poster presentation offers a unique way to share your research through engaging visuals like maps, photos, and charts, allowing for in-depth discussions with colleagues. Selected top posters will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at the SfAA Annual Meeting, with cash awards of $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place.

  • Awards are available to students who meet the following criteria:
    • Must have been enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate student during part of the current year.
    • Research can be faculty-supported, but the student must be the primary investigator.
    • Only students should be listed as authors (faculty cannot be co-authors).

Is your poster clear, appealing, and informative? Consider the following questions:

  • Does the poster catch attention?
  • Can a viewer quickly understand its key points?
  • Does it inspire questions from interested readers?

Poster Content and Design Tips

To make your poster impactful, use graphics like photos, charts, and maps, and limit text to key points in a readable font size. Use color to enhance appeal and readability, but avoid dense text and small fonts.

Research Presentation and Relevance

  • Explain your research clearly and connect it to relevant theories.
  • Highlight its societal impact, creative aspects, and potential applications.

The Student Poster Session is on Thursday from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m.

  • Set-up: Between 10:00 and 10:45 a.m.
  • Judging: 10:45 to 1:30 p.m. (Posters must be set up by 10:45 p.m. to qualify for judging.)

Each participant will receive a designated display area with a 40″x 30″ board, binder clips, and a poster number. To be eligible, posters must fit within these dimensions.
