Samira Khabbazzadeh-Rashti

Samira Khabbazzadeh-Rashti is an MPH student at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and holds an M.A. in Anthropology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN, 2023). As an anthropologist with a deep-seated commitment to social justice, Samira’s work is informed by an abolitionist framework that draws from intergenerational narratives of resistance, particularly those from her father’s experiences in Iran. Her academic and research endeavors focus on the intersections of anthropology and public health, emphasizing harm reduction, food injustice, and the impact of intergenerational trauma.

Rahman is currently a graduate student in Anthropology and Environmental Policy at the University of Maine.
