Elizabeth Brazelton

Lisa is a PhD candidate in BioCultural Medical Anthropology at the University of Alabama. Her research Hemp for Hope: Agency Among Alabama Hemp Farmers examines the budding hemp industry with a focus on women and minority farmers navigating the highly regulated socioeconomic and political challenges of hemp cultivation. This follows her master’s research The Resilient Warrior: A Lakota Ethnography in Hemp Economics that examined oppression, resilience, and sovereignty centered around a tribal case in hemp cultivation. Brazelton also holds a graduate certificate in Museum Studies from UA and continues her work with tribes in repatriation and recentering tribal historic narratives in museum settings. She is passionate in bringing light to social justice issues through her research working with women, minorities, and tribal populations.

Kailin Sepp

Kailin Sepp is a master’s student in the Environmental Science & Management program at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. Their research focuses on advocating for marginalized communities affected by sea level rise. In collaboration with community members, government agencies, and other organizations, they work to develop a flood adaptation plan through surveys, workshops, and photovoice interviews.
