The Society for Applied Anthropology offers opportunities for students to volunteer at the Annual Meeting. It’s a great way to engage with other attendees, network, and see behind the scenes at the Meetings. Free registration or one year’s membership is available for those who work a 4-hour shift.

Please note: If you are presenting, you will need to register first. Once you have volunteered, we will refund the original form of payment after the Meeting.

– Checking in registrants
– Stuffing participant packets
– Checking in workshop attendees
– Moving boxes from the storage room

– Moving boxes of easels and poster board to the Exhibit Hall
– Setting up easels and poster boards
– Placing a number, pins, and clips on each board
– Assisting students in finding their designated areas
– Keeping attendees out until the session opens

– Taking down screens
– Pulling up tape from cords
– Bringing carts back from rooms
– Re-boxing A/V equipment
– Loading the box truck with registration supplies and A/V equipment

(Must be 21 or older)

– Setting up the social
– Setting out food
– Pouring drinks
– Cleaning up
